CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE OF MINERA ANTAMINA IN THE PERUVIAN MINING INDUSTRY, PERIOD 2008 – 2018

Abstract

The research analyzes and evaluates the internal dimension -environmental aspect and natural resources- of the management of corporate social responsibility (CSR), and its relationship with the environmental performance of COMPAÑÍA MINERA ANTAMINA (CMA), to know what its behavior is, about how define CSR, and the importance attributed to environmental performance on "what they declare to do" as good environmental practices in the period from 2008 to 2018. Evaluating the degree of compliance with reported information, and its comparison of compliance between the structures that contain GRI Reports and international standard ISO 26000, which between them relate the interaction on the environmental management approach and its environmental performance indicators, which evaluates fundamental matters and CSR issues in ISO 26000. Analyzing 09 indicators: Use of materials, Energy consumption, Renewable energy, Water consumption, Biodiversity, Emissions, Wastewater, Waste and Closure plan, of these, 06 present direct proportional behaviour, proportional to its production volume. Concluding that CMA within its policies, strategies and its environmental performance, is insignificant. Recommended to strengthen your CSR management; to generate strategies that significantly impact its environmental performance, consolidating its high corporate reputation, mainly with its stakeholders; and that in their following reports they include reporting all the fields requested by the GRI reporting structure.
