Abstract

The research aimed to analyze the post-pandemic impact on the Venezuelan private sector's hotel occupancy rate, as well as its challenges and opportunities for hospitality services. A mixed-approach field study was conducted, with a descriptive level and content analysis of secondary data generated by the Basic Statistics Program of the National Federation of Hotels of Venezuela (FENAHOVEN). Data corresponding to the post-pandemic period, from May 2021 to May 2025, was considered for the study. The results indicate that private sector hotel occupancy has remained at an average of 31% in the post-pandemic period. This appears to be a temporary step in a gradual evolution that will only be tangible through hard work, agreements, shared effort, alliances, and sector competitiveness. It is concluded that tourism development in Venezuela has always been considered a potential sector to be exploited, potentially accounting for a significant percentage of the Venezuelan economy's gross domestic product. For this reason, the hotel subsector and its professional training should not be neglected, as a fundamental segment to boost national tourism
